Robbie Williamson to Host the Ubuntu Weekly Q&A Session Today

Announced last week, the Ubuntu Managers at Canonical are giving weekly Q & A sessions to the community. Originally to be held in the ubuntu-meeting channel, these sessions have been moved to the moderated #ubuntu-classroom and #ubuntu-classroom-chat IRC channels on irc.freenode.net.

Last week's session was with Pete Graner, the Ubuntu Kernel Team Manager at Canonical. Talking About Ubuntu has a great easily readable (not in IRC log form) summary of this session.

Today's Q&A Session:

Today's session will be with Robbie Williamson, Server Engineering Manager at Canonical at 5:30pm (UTC) in the #ubuntu-classroom and #ubuntu-classroom-chat IRC Channels.

How To Participate:

To participate join the following IRC channels on irc.freenode.net: #ubuntu-classroom and #ubuntu-classroom-chat. Williamson will be presenting and answering questions in the #ubuntu-classroom channel with participants asking the questions and chatting in the #ubuntu-classroom-chat channel. Remember to preface your questions with QUESTION. For example, "QUESTION: What is the primary difference between the Ubuntu Desktop and the Ubuntu Server releases in Ubuntu 11.04? " (without the question marks)

There is a bot in the #ubuntu-classroom-chat channel that knows to pull the questions that are phrased in that format and post them in the #ubuntu-classroom channel.

If you don't have or want to install and IRC client you can use the web interface as well—webchat.freenode.net.

Ubuntu Weekly Q&A Schedule:

Each session takes place at 5.30pm UTC in #ubuntu-classroom and #ubuntu-classroom-chat (UseTimeandDate.com to find out what time that is in your time zone)

In addition to these sessions Jono Bacon, the Ubuntu Community Manager also hosts a weekly interactive Q+A videocast on UstreamTV at 7pm UTC.

Other information:

I'll also add summaries (link above to last weeks session) and links to the logs here (last weeks logs weren't posted due to the changing of the irc channels) on You-In-Ubuntu in case you missed the meeting. In addition if there is something you would like asked during these sessions let me know and I'll see if I can get your questions posted so they can be part of the questions and answer session. Just let me know your name so I can attribute the questions to the right person.

As the wiki is updated I'll also update schedule.
