Announced on the Ubuntu devel mailing list by Kate Stewart, Ubuntu Release Manager at Canonical, Ubuntu 8.04, Hardy Heron, LTS (Desktop) release will reach its end-of-life support on May 12, 2011. Stewart says in the announcement, "Ubuntu announced its 8.04 Desktop release almost 36 months ago, on April 24, 2008.
