Call for Ubuntu Translation Stories

David Planella, Ubuntu Translations Coordinator, issued a call for Translation Stories today. This call for stories represents one of projects that the Ubuntu Translations Community will be working on during the Ubuntu 11.04, Natty Narwhal cycle.

The goal of the Translation Stories Project is to highlight how the work of the translators impact positively on people's lives throughout the Ubuntu Community and beyond. "We'd like to share our excitement and highlight the awesome work translators do", Planella noted on his blog post and in the email sent to various Ubuntu mailing lists.

You don't need to be a translator to help raise awareness of the Ubuntu Translation efforts. All you need is some spare time and a willingness to contribute. Translation story contributions can be done in four easy steps: 1) Sign up to write a story 2) Research your story 3) Write your story 4) Send in your story.

Planella also includes a "Get Inspired" guide to help contributors with story submissions. Suggested topics to write about include, Schools using Ubuntu in your language, Translation Jams, Statistics, Interviews, Workflow and more.

More information on how you can contribute to the Translation Stories project can be found on the mailing list and wiki pages.
